Autumn's Halloween Eye Candy

Halloween is finally finally here. All the anticipation and all-what-knots. No going back on Autumn now. 

The vibrant colours of orange, yellows and reds blended with blacks, greys and whites is a sure sign of things to happen late in the night!!!!. Black cats, Jack O'Lanterns, Ghouls, Witch's broths, Spider webs and all seem to spring up everywhere (most especially at night).

My discoveries at the 100% Design Show 2011 ~ Part I

A month late but here is what I have to share from the 100% Design Exhibition last month in Earls Court London.

Me and one of the women behind 'Tactile Wonderland'. Was so nice to meet her in person and feel the wonderful wallpaper designs on the wall.

I met the lovely Jamie Sutherland, a Glasgow student, who designed a prototype leather case for the iPad.

My colour inspirations ~ Earth tones

As an Interior Designer, I pay particular attention to my surrounding, no matter where I may be. I always seem to find or see something that tickles my fancy, colour-wise!!!. Today I am going to share with you colours of the earth.

Earth tones are colours that basically mimic the earth we live in. They represent nature's colour themes which can be browns, greys, greens, whites, reddish and orange. Just to name a few. Earth tones are just simply 'down-to-earth'.

'Disney Legend' Mary Blair ~ Inspirational illustrator and artist

Today is the 100th Birthday of Mary Blair . She was famous for being an illustrator and artist who created some of the best designs I've seen. Her style was very colourful, imaginative and original. She worked for the Walt Disney Company between 1940 - 1953 . In 1991 she received the posthumous 'Disney Legend' Award.

Ellen and Portia's piece of Beverly Hills

Everyone has to see and read November's issue of Architectural Digest. On the cover features Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi posing in their very trendy Beverly Hills Home. The architects responsible for this beautiful abode are Buff & Hensman . The decorator is Melinda Ritz.

The space below is the sitting space near their kitchen. I love the oversized framed painting ~ a joint effort by Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Totally awesome as I love their work immensely.

I so totally love the living room. So right up my street with the colour palette. Very cool earthtones.The wood-burning fireplace is the icing on the cake.

Below is their porch.I love the back-to-nature look. Bringing the outside in. So nicely done.

An outdoor swimming pool to die for. Am so not jealous!!! NOT.
